New Lease of Life for Community as Church Responds to Prophetic Word

AshfordFurnitureproject
Gateway Church Ashford has spent the last six months renovating a building to provide them with a base for their Furniture and Baby Equipment project that serves the needs of the community.

In 2005, Keith Hazell visited Ashford and prophesied that the church would be given a building by God that would enable them to start a significant project. About a year later the idea was birthed by some members of the congregation to provide furniture for those who have little or nothing.

The church was offered a five year lease on a property for a staggering rent of £1.00 per year! They took this as confirmation from God and have since received the majority of their funding and support from the local authority.
The building has been renovated to provide storage for the furniture and some additional office space. They now have a full time project manager and 15 volunteers who collect and deliver the furniture.

Since the project opened in April, help has been given to over 120 families in need, and God’s love has been shared. A local publication; the Ashford Focus featured the project in their July edition. Download a PDF of the article here.
