In Brief
Healing Testimony
of Anita from Vashi, a region of Mumbai, India
I was diagnosed with spondalitis twelve years ago. The doctors could not provide much relief even through medicines and painkillers. The pain would be very bad accompanied with swelling at the nape of my neck. When I recently visited the doctor he recommended that I wear a belt round my neck and one for my back as well. It seemed as if I would have to live the rest of my life in them. I attended the Indian Together on a Mission conference in Mumbai and right on the first day itself God had something planned for me. During the second session after Dave Devenish preached I found my body stiffen. Something was happening to me. I didn’t know what. The next day I realised that I was completely healed from the spondalitis.
I had slept on a pillow right through the night and there was no pain at all – something I could never do before! God had touched me and I have not known any pain or swelling ever since. Praise God!
Jubilee Health Centre
Cape Town, South Africa
As part of their ministry to the local community, Jubilee Community Church opened a Health Centre two years ago, seeing about 40 patients a week.
Here is an extract from a recent newsletter from Dr Caryn Wilson: ‘One particular family in which we have seen a dramatic change comes from an informal settlement on the outskirts of Cape Town. They are part of our church family, the parents serving God wholeheartedly. Their two little children, a boy aged two and his sister, aged three, were terrified when they first came to see us. The little girl screamed so loudly when I tried to look in her ears that her little brother attacked me in defence of his sister! Slowly but surely they became convinced that pain was not part of the package and began to relax.
‘There are many similar stories of children who can’t wait to visit the clinic. ‘Having previously worked among poorer communities in hard-pressed, overcrowded government clinics, I am so encouraged that we can provide a safe haven of medical care and comfort, and a meeting place with God Himself, especially for those who have so little choice in life.
‘We continue to see people being set free from demons and completely healed of their physical ailments as a result. Last week a woman was delivered of a demon as she walked through the door of the clinic, before she had had a chance to tell us her problem. God’s presence was so evident that the demon had no choice but to come out! She stood up beaming and told us she had no need to be seen medically as she was completely cured and would come back another time should the need arise. God is awesome!’
Amazing SMS
Received from Edward Buria, Kenya
Can’t keep this to myself! Doing some washing in our kitchen. Suddenly had a knock at our main gate. Went to open the gate only to find myself with this well-known criminal who was shaking uncontrollably, asking me to pray 4 him. Led him to the Lord.
Went inside the house. In less than 20 minutes another knock at the gate. Went there and could not believe my eyes. There was one of the most feared criminals being led by the one I had just prayed 4. Prayed 4 him and led him to the Lord!
Paris Church Plant
The Cévennes mountain region in southern France is where French Protestants experienced the fiercest persecution from the established church in the 17th century. It is also where, for the past four years, Newfrontiers France has held its annual Bible Week, Rendezvous.
During the conference Terry and Wendy were welcomed to an open-air lunch with Gordon and Kerry Neal, George and Gill Tee and those who were joining them in Paris to plant a new church.
After the conference it was wonderful to hear many testimonies of conversions, recommitments, healings, refreshing and equipping for mission. Let’s pray that France will be increasingly impacted by churches built on apostolic and prophetic foundations, enjoying the grace of God and taking the gospel to the lost in the power of the Holy Spirit. |
