On a Mission Together in Kenya

Hundreds of key leaders from all over Kenya arrived at the MTTI (Meru Technical Training Institute) with high expectations to hear God’s voice, be refreshed, enjoy fellowship, be envisioned, and have uninterrupted moments of worship and prayer. They were not disappointed!
The conference started with a bang as Edward Buria preached from Isaiah 43:18-19, the same Scripture that spoke so powerfully and prophetically to us last year. As Edward exhorted us through these verses, the spiritual temperature was rising!
Our singing group (Speed the Power) led us into the presence of God with new, powerful and rich songs, and prophetic words ignited new faith and joy for all that God has in store for us. Edward had invited a team of seven speakers to speak on the theme of ‘On a Mission Together as an Apostolic People’. There were some powerful and encouraging messages on such topics as The promise of entering into God’s rest, Serving God’s purposes in our Generation; Excelling in Leadership; Living for the bigger picture as we look forward to the second coming of Jesus; and the Importance of our global mission as we believe and live with ‘we can do more together than apart’.
Three insightful seminars were particularly helpful. One on Conflict Resolution gave both Biblical context and practical instruction for solving conflict in our churches. Another was Wealth Creation through encouraging a culture of savings and credit facilities. The third was about the Role of Media and IT in an apostolic movement, and helped leaders to see the importance of embracing media and IT in our churches, and how they can use it to build an innovative and helpful ministry.
Friday evening was an amazing time with great healings and many souls won for Christ. Edward was on top form as he closed the conference with an unforgettable message when he charged us to GO AND MAKE JESUS FAMOUS! What a message this was! We loved the points Edward made:
- We make Jesus famous when we believe in him and live for him
- We make Jesus famous when we celebrate him, and know that he is always with us
- We make Jesus famous when we preach and do
- what he did as we take the gospel to the ends of the world.
- We make Jesus famous when we commit ourselves in a local church
- We make Jesus famous as we proclaim him the coming King of Kings and Lord of Lords! OUR GREATEST MISSION IS MAKING JESUS FAMOUS!
