One such work is Operation Trumpet Call (OTC). OTC is the rallying call for the Church in Zimbabwe to rise and move with God in leading the nation in revival and change. The call is for the Church to unify in spiritual reformation and practical needs so that Zimbabwe can feed itself. The Newfrontiers churches in Zimbabwe, led by Scott Marques and team, together with the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ) led by Dr Goodwill Shana, are working in tandem to see this vision fulfilled.

The OTC farmers from across the nation gather together in Bulawayo and Harare once a month where they are equipped and trained spiritually (through preaching and teaching) and practically (with Foundations for Farming). The farmers take this knowledge back to their various communities and train other farmers.

A highlight will be the upcoming EFZ Conference in March where Dr Goodwill Shana will be speaking alongside Terry Virgo. The conference dates are Monday 22 – 24th March in Bulawayo and 24 – 26th March in Harare.

Foundations for Farming was founded and pioneered by Brian Oldreive who has recently been on a six week visit to the UK speaking about this God-given way of farming. The principles of: on Time, to Standard, without Wastage and with Joy have seen farmers reaping great rewards. Foundations for Farming has spread far and wide impacting 17 Nations in Africa. With the huge success Foundations for Farming has received in Zimbabwe, it is now being incorporated in the schools curriculum nationwide as well as in prisons providing much needed food for the inmates.

The Faithful Stewards Project, spearheaded by Alan Norton trains rural leaders from 21 churches in Foundations for Farming and Foundations for Family. The exciting thing with this initiative is that it trains and equips leaders from other churches within the community hence uniting the Church of Zimbabwe and extending God’s Kingdom through everyday aspects such as farming and family life.
