September 2010 Update

It is magnificent seeing God at work in Zimbabwe. He is strategically positioning the Church to be the epicenter in initiating revival and transformation through the partnership of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe led by Dr Goodwill Shana and Foundations for Farming founded and pioneered by Brian Oldreive under the apostolic oversight of Scott Marques.

God is doing something extraordinary in Zimbabwe. The nation is at a crossroads; a place where things are shifting and being redefined. God is positioning the Church to be at the centre stage with what He is doing in the nation. This transformation is being outworked through Trumpet Call and Operation Trumpet Call.

What is Trumpet Call?

Trumpet Call is the prophetic call to the Church to unite in transformation, as Isaiah 58:1 declares, “Raise your voice like a trumpet.” It is the partnership between the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe and Foundations for Farming to call and mobilize the Church to lead the nation in transformation with the first step being to see thousands of leaders equipped and millions of people fed in the nation of Zimbabwe through a restoration and wholehearted commitment to God, with one another and to the poor. Isaiah 58 shows us that it requires the right heart and motive of the true fast and then agriculture is the entrance point to rebuild the nation. Trumpet Call therefore, will reach a peak on the 26th September 2010 when a call will go to the Zimbabwean diaspora across the world and those interested in the transformation of this nation, to fast and pray for Zimbabwe.

What is Operation Trumpet Call?

Operation Trumpet Call is the physical incarnation of this call through the 58 model sites for Foundations for Farming around Zimbabwe, raising the banner of Trumpet Call and the Trumpet Call vision. The 58 sites will therefore be prepared and ready by the 26th September as training points throughout the rural areas of Zimbabwe. Operation Trumpet Call is for the poor and initiates the building plan of the nation.

Two conferences were held earlier on this year. We had the Operation Trumpet Call Conferences in Bulawayo and Harare. Terry Virgo, Dr Shana and Scott Marques inspired, encouraged and stirred the Church leaders with messages on “God’s Lavish Grace”, “Let your light shine”, and on “Leadership”. The conference was excellent as it ushered Operation Trumpet Call from phase 1 – farm sites receiving training and inputs to phase 2 – farm sites giving training and inputs. This will be outworked through model communities that will depict the vast picture of Jesus life amongst us with our differences fading in importance as we live in unity, love and service of each other.

LoveZim International Day of Prayer

Preparation for the international day of fasting and prayer to be held on 26th September are underway and we hope to put “Raise a banner for Jesus” posts across the country along each of the main roads and the small roads that lead to Operation Trumpet Call model sites so that in one week, the country will become aware that there are sites and communities who are ready to teach and show the way.

We also had the Trumpet Call for Transformation Conference in Harare. Over 200 church leaders from the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe and Newfrontiers churches in Zimbabwe were represented. Ed Silvoso, author of the book titled “Transformation”, together with Dr Shana, Scott Marques and Brian Oldreive stirred, motivated and gave direction to the leaders on the transformation process in Zimbabwe.

Transformation in Zimbabwe is in progress and it must be tangible. The Church is to be at the centre of the change and to bring answers. God is the answer to our problems. His heart is for Transformation.
