Koffi Kponouglo reports on the truth of the gospel ringing out across Ghana and wonderful advance in the nations of West Africa.

Ghana

Next month will be exactly two years since we began a television broadcast called Rebuilding the Nations.  Born out of a vision to fill our nation with the precious truth of God’s word to replace the error and lies that reign in our nations, we are currently reaching over 4 million out of the 23 million people in Ghana. John’s weekly teaching in the nation is increasingly being seen as re-setting the standard for true Christian revelation.  The broadcasting work has opened up many contacts with leaders in our nations and has already led to the planting of several new churches in Ghana.

SmP1050920Having grappled for many years with the best approach to raising up leadership in our parts of the world, John feels that our newly developed Rebuilding Leadership training programme is set to move us forward.  Inspired by God’s requirements for leadership in 1 Tim 3 & Titus 1, which put the emphasis heavily on character development, marriage and family life and equipping with God’s word for service, Rebuilding Leadership is seeking to put the emphasis where God has placed his emphasis.  Gathering leaders for one Saturday each month, three areas are tackled using a combination of straightforward teaching, a pre-recorded video, group work, and question and answer sessions. Rebuilding Leadership is set to play a key role in raising up God’s kind of leaders for our churches as well as in business, education and politics.

Our evangelistic team, the New Creation Team, has travelled to other parts of the country.  They have been in Koforidua and in Amanokrom (Eastern Region) as well as Takoradi (Western Region). We are seeing many people saved, the sick healed and churches planted in these new territories as the gospel has advanced in these areas.

Nigeria

Sam Amara held his annual Grace Conference in the first week of October in Lagos, Nigeria. It was a joy to see Sam proclaim the gospel of grace with a strong plea for the church in Nigeria to return to the true gospel of God.  An exciting new preacher to appear on the platform in Lagos was Sewa Segbe who leads our work in Lome, Togo.  Sewa preached a powerful message on the grace of God that stirred the love of God afresh in many hearts.

Guinea

Nicolas and Elaine Thebault have returned to Conakry in Guinea and  have reported a rapid growth of Light for the Nations Church which is leading to the need for a new meeting place. Conakry is not the easiest place to find accommodation for Christian services and we value your prayers for a breakthrough for our church there.

Rebuilding the Nations Conference

Preparations have begun in earnest for our annual conference for our churches in West Africa. The dates are the 14th to the 20th of February 2011 at the City of God Church Centre in Accra.  John has invited David Stroud to be the guest speaker at next year’s conference.
