A New Church in Switzerland

Payerne, Switzerland

Martyn George with the eldersThe Eglise Evangelique La Promesse took shape during 2009 when about 40 people began to meet together regularly in a rural setting in French-speaking Switzerland, north of Lausanne.

The church began with three elders, Denis Rapin, Fred Davet and Daniel Miauton and at the beginning of 2010 they rented church facilities in the village of Payerne.  Martyn and Gaynor Dunsford, from Kings Community Church in Southampton, UK, have been friends of these people for many years.  They have helped them to establish the church and continue to remain involved.

The public launch of the Eglise Evangelique La Promesse was on the weekend of 19-21st March 2010, when Martyn and George Tee, an elder in the Paris Newfrontiers church, joined them for a weekend of meetings.  The meetings were attended by many other leaders and representatives of other local churches in the region. It was good to see how well the new church has been accepted in the region and there was a great sense of unity and agreement in their fellowship and praying together.

The Kingdom is growing in French-speaking Switzerland!
