Riches of Grace Church

The Riches of Grace Church in Lagos, Nigeria led by Sam Amara has been involved in a number of community based activities in the past few months.

Evangelism

The climate for evangelism is not what it used to be like. Instead of real openness to the church people are now distancing themselves from churches partly because of several strange expressions of ‘church’ in the nation. As a strategy, we formed small groups of evangelistic teams made up of church members who came together with the sole purpose of preaching the gospel to people in the community and to win new souls for Jesus Christ.

Over the last few weeks, 15 people have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This has been an encouragement to the church especially to the women who have now agreed to form their all-women’s groups and repeat this outreach at least four more times before the end of the year.

Our Youth

One of our goals for this year has been to grow and develop the youth of the church with the hope that they will begin to play much more active roles in our growing church.

Under the able leadership of Fabion & Amanda Matema our young people have been using songs, dance, Bible studies and drama shows to create very exciting meetings for themselves which are beginning to draw other young people from the community to become part of the church. Their one day youth retreat focused on finding new ways of making an impact in a growing church.

Since then, a number of the young people have joined the praise and worship band, while some are now involved in ushering duties.

Marriage

Sam has embarked on a four-part teaching series which has been focusing on marriage. Starting with preparation for marriage all the way to building marriages God’s way. The teaching has provided many insights on how to build a home for God as well as all the different stages of a marriage relationship.

The teaching series on marriage which have been open to the wider community will conclude with a one day retreat for married couples where John & Alexandra Kpikpi will be our guest speakers. Altogether, Riches of Grace Church is set on an exciting roller coaster of events designed to win souls for Christ, grow its youth and its relationships – all within and outside of its walls!
