Equipped for Mission by GRACE!

 At “church leaders” events, it can be easy to think, “This is where we get excited and encourage each other before we plunge into another year of the difficult daily work of leadership.” However at the Newfrontiers USA’s national leadership conference, Equipped for Mission (EFM) in St. Louis, we found our sights lifted to God’s magnificence and we were reminded of the tremendous privilege of being His children. We reflected on His faithful provision and anticipate how He’ll provide in the future.
The teachings of Ed Stetzer, John Lanferman and Terry Virgo (sessions and seminars available online) strengthened us in our mission and encouraged us to bring others into that mission. Our Friday evening banquet was again a time for good fellowship and fun. The conference closed with a time of powerful prayer for our cities, nation and the world, particularly our Newfrontiers work in the Middle East.
 Following the EFM conference, many in St. Louis and the surrounding area were able to attend “Three Nights on Grace” featuring Terry Virgo’s talks on grace. Terry served us well as he clearly laid out the reality of God’s remarkable goodness to us through Jesus. How incredible it is for those of us who have heard this teaching before, often many times, to still find ourselves baffled by how truly amazing grace is! Not only are we freed from condemnation and sin’s power, we are also freed from dead works and invited in to serving God from a desire to love Him rather than to gain His approval. Released from the weight of trying to be “good enough” for Him or to “prove ourselves” to others, we serve from joy and thankfulness. Plus, we unashamedly earn His rewards to boot! The worship time after each session found us rejoicing anew in God’s freedom and mercy. A video series of Terry’s talks is currently being produced so these great messages by Terry can be heard by many more!
These USA events both equipped us for further mission AND reminded us that we are fully accepted, fully righteous. Listen to the conference sessions or watch Terry’s talks on grace as soon as you can!
